Q. Who can use the BIGLOO accessible toilet?

A. It is designed to be accessible to people with disabilities, including wheel chair users, giving virtually universal access, regardless of their disability or access needs.
Please note children and vulnerable people should be supervised at all times when using the facility.

Q. What is the difference between a "disabled toilet" and an "accessible toilet"?

A. To many people they mean the same thing, however, accessible toilets are designed to provide adequate space for persons with disabilities, wheelchair access and a caregiver. Both give disability access. Also known as a High Dependency Toilet Unit. .

Q. What is the procedure for collection and removal when the hire has ended?

A. We aim to arrive with the accessible restroom facilities as near to the pre-arranged time as possible. The services to have been disconnected prior to this and BIGLOO to be in a clean condition. We will drain the water system, dismantle and load the BIGRAMP and BIGLOO onto our lorry and trailer and leave site.

Q. What type of lock is fitted?

A. A RADAR NKS National Key Scheme type lock is fitted, which many disabled persons who wish to access toilet facilities have a key for. We also supply a RADAR key. For security outside the proposed hours of use, a high level eurocylinder lock to BS EN 1303:2005 TS007 3 star rated is fitted.

Q. How long will it take for you to set up/remove the BIGLOO accessible toilet and ramp?

A. All subject to a site visit, but we normally allow a maximum 1 ½ hours. We require a clear and uninterrupted access, egress and working area. If the work takes longer due to site issues outside of our control, extra costs will be incurred.

Q. Who is responsible for connecting the waste pipe, water and electric?

A. The customer is.

The waste and water are standard 110mm and 15mm connections. The electrical connection is a 32amp plug connection. All connections to be carried out by a competent person. If the connections are made when we are on site, we will happily demonstrate the operation of the equipment.

Q. Will your lorry travel over grass to deliver BIGLOO?

A. As a rule, no. With our lorry mounted crane, the front wheels tend to want to sink and the rear wheels slide – even when loaded. As the customer will be liable for recovery costs and any damage caused, we prefer to decline. There may be other ways to site BIGLOO, including the use of spreader mats, which we are always happy to discuss. Please call.

Q. Is there any order in which to connect the services?

A. We strongly recommend connecting and flushing through the water system before connecting the electrical supply. This is an extra safeguard in addition to the other control measures, to prevent the empty water heater from being accidently turned on and failing. There are warning instructions, but this is an extra safeguard.

Q. Is BIGLOO supplied with an accessible ramp giving disabled access?

A. Yes, as a standard the BIGRAMP is supplied. The design and construction complies with the technical requirements of “British Standard BS8300” and “Building Regulation Approved Document M: Buildings Other Than Dwellings.” This increases the usability and access for the disabled and wheelchairs. The compliant handrail system meets accessibility standards and allows individuals with disabilities to safely access the toilet. If the BIGRAMP is not required, this will be reflected in the hire rate or purchase price.

Q. Do you provide an attendant on site whilst BIGLOO is on hire?

A. Generally no. As per a Changing Places permanent facility, the BIGLOO is designed to be completely accessible to most people, regardless of their access needs, disability, or reliance on assistants. However, a help line will be available between 09.00-17.00 during the hire period.

A suggested cleaning schedule is supplied with the information pack.

Please note the BIGLOO must be cleaned prior to collection.

Q. Do you supply a waste tank to be used in conjunction with BIGLOO?

A. No, as this will increase the floor level, which in turn will increase the angle of the ramp, making the toilet far from accessible. We have no objection if you wish to supply and connect your own tank. Please contact us to discuss.

Q. Do you provide consumables?

A. Yes, toilet rolls, sanitary bin liners, waste bin bags, soap for the dispenser and hygiene rolls for the changing bench.

For short term hire there should be an adequate supply. For longer term hire, extra quantities can be ordered prior to delivery, or the customer can arrange their own supply.

Q. Are hoist slings provided?

A. For health and safety reasons users must supply their own slings with the loop fitting.

Q. Who is responsible for the insurance for BIGLOO and BIGRAMP?

A. Insurance covering loss or damage to the BIGLOO and BIGRAMP is the responsibility of the Company or Organisation hiring the facility, from arrival on site to removal from site.

The insurance value and cover required will be clearly stated in the hire contract.

Q. What are your payment terms?

A. Payment timings will vary depending on dates and length of hire, but it will always be in advance of delivery. For sale a deposit will be required. The terms will be detailed in the quotation.

Q. The BIGLOO specification seems quite close to a "Changing Places" toilet, but there are no "Changing Places" logos displayed?

A. The hire version of BIGLOO does not meet the full “Changing Places” specification, for reasons explained in this website. The logos can only be used if the full specification is achieved. We would recommend comparing the BIGLOO equipment specifications, dimensions and ramp incline against any alternative product, and not to simply rely on any logos displayed.

Please note, for purchase, we can manufacture BIGLOO to fully comply with British Standard BS8300.

Q. We wish to use the BIGLOO in the winter, will it be warm enough?

Yes. BIGLOO has wall, ceiling and underfloor insulation. A pre-set thermostatically controlled 2kw low surface temperature fan heater is fitted. This can also act as a fan only during hot periods.

Please note, during any cold spell, anti frost heating must be kept on to prevent the pipes from freezing.
